Beautiful Beaches In The Fort Myers Area
Remember going to the beach when you were a kid? Were you the kid that stayed in the water all day riding the waves? Did you stay in the water for so long you got goose bumps? I bet your mom had to beg you to come out just to have lunch. And you probably never waited 30 minutes to get back in. Maybe you were the kid that liked to play in the sand. You were the one that let your friends bury you all the way up to your neck. You dug moats around your sand castles that filled with water when the tide would start to come in. You might have been a mix of both water and sand kid. It really didn’t matter because spending the day at the beach was the best!
I still love going to the beach. I love to go with family, friends or even by myself. I just love the beach. I think this is why I fell in love with the Fort Myers area. The area has almost endless choices of beaches. Here are some of the beautiful beaches in the Fort Myers Area.
Fort Myers Beach
If you are looking for a beach that has a lot of activity, then Fort Myers Beach is the place to be. This is a fun beach! You can rent beach chairs and umbrellas right on the beach and kick back for the day. Enjoy the sites, jet skiers and parasailing. There are shops, restaurants, bars and ice cream shops in Times Square, that is located right in the middle of all the action. Fort Myers Beach. It’s also a great place to enjoy the sun set. If you watch from the pier, you will have the best seat in the house for the sunset.
I absolutely love Sanibel Island. There are six beaches that you can choose from, Blind Pass, Bowman’s, Causeway, Light House, Tarpon and Gulfside City Park. A fun fact, and not surprising, is that Sanibel Island was voted to have the most beautiful beaches in the United States. These beaches also have the most amazing shells to collect. Bring your shelling gear, sunscreen and be prepared to perfect your Sanibel Stoop.
Quiet, pristine, white soft sand, beautiful sunsets and great fishing. Do I need to say more? Captive Island is beautiful. There are two beaches to chose from here, Turner and Alison Hagerup Beach. Trust me when I say this, you will never want to leave these beaches. Pack a picnic, grab a book and spend the day with your toes in the sand.
