Farmer’s Market Restaurant
Can you say “Southern home cooking at it’s best”? I’m talking about fried chicken, mashed potatoes, biscuits, collard greens, homemade pies and a whole bunch of gravy! My pants feel tighter just typing that. This place has some really great reviews. The portions are large, the food is homemade and the prices are great! Here is what a Yelper had to say about their experience.
“My wife is from Atlanta Georgia and cooks southern food, great cook delicious! We tried this place and it was better than eating at Paula Dean’s restaurant, no joke the food was so awesome I will be eating there at least twice a week the people are great and their food is unbelievable take my word for it. Homemade everything plus delicious homemade pies! Can’t wait to go back.”

Mad Fresh Bistro
Love, love, love this place. Amazing food, made with the freshest ingredients, prepared by a talented chef, need I say more. Everything on the menu looks great. I have only been there once. If it didn’t take me 26 hours to drive there I would be a regular. The menu is any foodies dream. If you like french food, go, if you have never tried french food but always wanted to, go, if you don’t care about either and just want lunch, go. Here’s what a Yelper had to say about their experience.
“This tiny little hidden gem had the best burger I’ve had in ages. They nailed the frites with truffle oil – amazing! Fresh food, fun staff, great atmosphere and prices were reasonable. I will be back. So many menu items I’d like to try. I enjoyed sitting at the counter and watching the chef in the kitchen and all the food being prepared. The staff spoke French to each other. It was tres cool.”
Check out the menu at Mad Fresh Bistro. The burgers are incroyable, that’s french for amazing.

Mario’s Meat Market and Deli
It’s 1954 and Mario Pica just came to Brooklyn New York from Naples Italy…and the rest is history. We should thank Mario’s parents, right now, for bringing him to America so that later in life he could move to Fort Myers, Florida and open Mario’s Meat Market and Deli. This place is a true gem. They offer fresh cut meats, cheeses, wine, prepared foods, catering and lunch. “What’s so special about their lunch?” you ask…Everything they have is WICKED GOOD! Yes, I am from Boston, and I do say wicked a lot. The Yelpers love it here too. Here’s what one Yelper has to say.
“Went for the first time last week. Was visiting my dad for 5 days. Went to Mario’s 3 days in a row. Everything was so good. I am from Jersey and used to GOOD Italian food. Bought my dad their sausage and bracciole. He loved it. Found the whole staff very friendly. From the people behind the counter to the two woman ringing up. They were all very helpful. The last day my sister and I went back for an eggplant parm sub. DELICIOUS!! Highly recommend. Wish there was one in New Jersey.”
This is definitely on my list of places to go to when I’m back in Fort Myers. Mario’s Meat Market and Deli have earned their way on this blog of best lunch in Fort Myers. And Mario…I will see you soon!

Are you looking for a big juicy burger with a side of hot salty fries and an ice cold beer? Then Ford’s Garage is the place for you. They have several different burgers to choose from, all good. I went there in August and had a Mushroom Swiss Burger named after Fort Myers very own, “councilman Mike Flanders”. It was excellent. All the burgers from the Ford’s Garage Hall of Fame are named after a public figure from Fort Myers. The restaurant itself is decorated like a garage, with oil rag napkins to tires for the sinks in the bathrooms. It’s really a cool, fun place to go for the whole family. Here’s what one of the friendly Yelpers had to say about it.
“I went here with my family when we were on vacation. I had a mix of sliders while my family had chilli fries and different kind of burgers.
Everything was tasty and fresh. The chili cheese fries were a big plate and tasted really good.
Another special thing about fords garage is the variety of fries you can get. Normal fries, white truffle fries and sweet potato fries tasted really good. The service was awesome – the waitress was kind and caring.”
Make sure you try Ford’s Garage next time you are looking for lunch. The only way this place could get any better is if they offered oil changes while you eat your lunch.
