Luminary Festival 2015

I can’t think of a better way to kick off your vacation and the holiday season than attending the 31st Annual Luminary Festival on Sanibel and Captiva Island.

December 4th on Sanibel and December 5th on Captiva. This event celebrates community spirit and goodwill.  Take a ride on the complimentary trolley and enjoy all the sites and sounds.

There will be music, a live nativity scene, and activities for the whole family. Trail maps are provided to ensure you won’t miss any of the festivities. You might even bump into Santa along the way. The local businesses, shops and restaurants will participate by lighting up their storefronts and spreading Christmas cheer.

The Luminary Festival has been a tradition over the last three decades in welcoming the holiday season. People come from all over the world to enjoy this celebration. Come down and see the natural beauty that is found on both the Sanibel and Captiva Islands during the Luminary Festival and throughout the entire year.

Suggestion for Luminary Festival

I suggest mixing this amazing festival with a sunset watch on Sanibel Island.  Grab a nice bottle of your favorite wine, a couple glasses and watch a romantic sunset on the western beaches of Sanibel Island.  Don’t forget the wine opener!

When you are done, stroll over to the Luminary Festival…and you will be amazed at the unique, creative, and awe inspiring Christmas feel of the lights.  The local businesses of Sanibel and Captiva have put in the effort to ensure that you will never forget this memorable evening.

….after all you cannot beat a bottle of wine and a Luminary Festival!
